Candy, chocolate, sweet or savory foods other then the preferred and selected children than healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. Chef Farah Quinn said the error is not healthy eating patterns in children comes from parents.
"If a child likes sweet, hard to eat healthy foods, like vegetables and fruits, the fault lies with us, his parents. The reason is because parents do not care about food choices, nor does it build a strong foundation early on. The first intake of children should only be given to food naturally, with pure flavors, no sugar and salt, "said Farah on the sidelines of the launch of his debut book entitled Healthy Happy Family at Home Tupperware, Jakarta, Saturday (07/30/2011).
According to Farah, the formation of pure flavor from an early age helps children to make healthy food choices later in life. Children are also more intelligent food choices. By itself, the child will refuse to eat unhealthy foods.
The mother of Armand Fauzan Quinn (4) is proved. His son, Armand, accustomed mengasup food without taste sweet or salty as a baby. As a result, Armand just like healthy foods.
"Citrus fruits, kiwi, raisins, it's like candy for Armand. After one year, Armand did not have a problem with food. He hungrily eat vegetables and fruit," explains Farah.
Pure taste
Since his first son was four months old, Farah pick and process food with pure flavors. Wives of male descendants of French, Carson Quinn, admits more concerned about healthy and balanced diet since pregnancy.
"What a mother eats during pregnancy affects child flavor. So even when feeding the child the first time, will affect the flavor of the child to grow up. Armand is the first intake of porridge without sugar and sweet potatoes are boiled and then blended. Even on steamed vegetables, or puree made with pure flavors. When Armand seven months, I gave it a sense of plain yogurt, "explains the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute graduate of the United States.
