Chavez Admits Cancer Surgery

Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez admitted he had undergone cancer surgery. The fact that destabilize the political system which he had dominated for over a decade and is a warning for supporters who wish to re-nominate him as president.

In a speech which is quite tense, Chavez (56) stated that he had undergone surgery in Havana to remove the cancer and need further treatment before returning home to Venezuela.

His supporters vowed to continue the socialist struggle, including the nationalization of the economy and diplomacy to oppose the U.S. domination in Latin America.

"We will continue to live and cope with everything. Wait for my return! "Chávez declared an end to a speech full of emotion on Thursday (30 / 6) evening from Havana, Cuba.

In a village on the outskirts of Caracas, supporters welcomed the president's speech to ignite fireworks. "He's still alive! He's still alive, "shouted a group of youths in the township marginal in Catia.
