WASHINGTON - The United States (U.S.) Al Qaeda has been blamed when turned kidnapper. It is based on documents found at the home of Osama bin Laden when the U.S. military operations.The document said that Al Qaeda changed their actions to the kidnapping operation. This is done because of the terror network is short of funds to carry out acts of terror.
Although kidnapping is not entirely new tactics Al Qaeda, the document reveals a more mature this tactic planned to get funding for terrorism.
After Osama was killed in the house hiding place May 2, U.S. intelligence continued to comb the area for clues possibility of terror attacks. U.S. intelligence also continue to track the source of funds from operations of Al Qaeda today.
Even before the operation, the U.S. Intelligence Agency (CIA) believes that Al Qaeda has been weakened and sources of funds already depressed.
"Clearly Al Qaeda in Pakistan has changed the direction of its operations to the kidnapping. Ransom from kidnapping is one way to find sources of funds for terror operations," said U.S. intelligence officials told AFP on Tuesday (21/06/2011).
U.S. and other governments on earth continue to try to track down and cut off the flow of funds for Al Qaeda. So far, Osama bin Laden became a symbol for Al Qaeda to facilitate these groups raise funds.
With the rapid advancement of Ayman al-Zawahiri as a substitute for Osama is unclear whether funding can be smoothly into the pockets of Al Qaeda.
