Speaking at the Regina Mundi Church, a sanctuary for the activist opponents of white minority rule, Michella memories involve the leaders of the civil rights movement of American and South African liberation struggle to encourage young leaders.
"Because of them I stand before you all as the Lady of the United States," she said to 1,000 people who gathered inside the church to hear a speech that was broadcast nationally.
"This is the legacy of the independence generation, the generation of liberation. And all of you, today's younger generation, inherit their blood, sweat, sacrifice and love. So the question today is, what would you make of that legacy? "Said Michelle.
More than 70 young women leaders from all over the continent of Africa was brought into Soweto to hear speeches and meeting with Michelle, who will visit the anti-apartheid struggle with both her daughters.
"You can be the generation that will end the HIV / AIDS in our time, the generation that not only fight the disease, but also the stigma of the disease," said Michelle.
"You can be the generation that keep you to be responsible leaders in an open, honest government at all levels, government is throwing corruption."
Michelle Obama was greeted with cheers and applause as his motorcade arrived in Soweto. In the garden of the church installed a giant screen of people who flooded the city could hear the firs lady's speech.
