According to the Associated Press news agency, Yemeni soldiers take part in a demonstration of the people mingling to celebrate the departure of Saleh abroad, Sunday, June 5, 2011 local time. There is no certainty whether Saleh, who has ruled for nearly 33 years, will return to Yemen or continue to settle abroad.
However, most people expect their country of Yemen soon have a new government. Through various demonstrations Saleh earlier this year sued resign from office for failing to tackle the economic crisis which makes many people miserable for so long.
Demands of the demonstrators were actually Saleh regime responded by deploying armed forces, causing heavy casualties. In recent weeks, Saleh also make people more upset with the promise to immediately resign but did not explain when he will deliver on his promise, until the incidents of attack on him and other Yemeni officials last week.
Yesterday, many residents took to the streets to celebrate the departure of Saleh abroad. They have a dance, and some are cutting farm animals as a form of gratitude.
"Who would believe that the people will be able to displace tyrants that?" said a teacher named Moufid al-Mutairi. "Opresor has gone, but people still survive," wrote a poster written in Arabic.
Saleh Al-Mutairi hope will not come back again. "If the medical report is really saying he only minor injuries, he'll be back. The challenge is to displace the remnants of his regime," said al-Mutairi. "When he came back, there will be a disaster," he continued.
