2022 Germany No More Use of Nuclear

Countries with the largest economy in Europe, Germany, plans to no longer use the nuclear energy from 2022. Learning from the nuclear reactor radiation risks that could threaten Japan, Germany are now eager to use renewable energy sources.

According to news agency Associated Press, the plan was announced German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday. According to Merkel, in the next 11 years, Germany is now a serious campaign for the use of renewable energy sources, from solar power and hydropower.

The German plan, for Merkel, could be an example to other countries. "We sure can show other countries that want to abandon nuclear energy, or are not going to use it, that economic growth, job creation, and prosperity can still be achieved by switching to renewable energy use," said Merkel.

So, according to Merkel, Germany is ready to shut down all 17 nuclear reactors by 2022. However, there are no specific plans regarding the closure of nuclear reactors and switching to renewable energy sources, including the costs involved.

Germany is known as the biggest economy in Europe and is now ranked fourth world economic power. One cause of Germany's economic success is the use of nuclear energy that can provide electrical energy in large quantities.

However, a number of major incidents have made the Germans aware of how dangerous the processing of nuclear energy because it can harm humans, both short and long term. First is the leaking of nuclear reactor in Chernobyl, USSR, in 1986. Now, the Japanese desperately to overcome the leaking of nuclear reactors in Fukushima, which damaged the tsunami wave hit after the earthquake 11 March.
