This was conveyed in a special interview with CNN, Friday, May 27, 2011. Safia Gaddafi who married in 1970, a year after he served as Libya's leader, says NATO no longer value human life. "Life is not worth much now," he said.
Safia told when four NATO missiles hit his residence in Tripoli shortly after Maghrib prayers, 1 May. Luckily, at that time Safia and Gaddafi was not in place, but his youngest son, Saif al-Arab, 29, and three grandsons were killed.
"I was not there, but I hope there, I would rather die with my boy (Saif al-Arab)," said Safia.
Safia was the second wife and mother of six children Gaddafi totaling eight people. Three of his sons were killed in NATO attacks. Two of them, Khamis and Saif al-Islam, suspected to be a combat strike force commander Gaddafi. Safia has denied this, she says her children are innocent civilians. "My children were civilians, and they were also attacked. So what's their fault?" Safia said.
Safia NATO condemned the killing. He said NATO had one goal and have deviated from its original. For that, Saifa demanded the international community to prosecute NATO.
"They (NATO), damaging our reputation. They have committed war crimes and accuse us of attacking millions of people of Libya. Consciously I was not going to let it," said Safia.
Safia also expressed support for her husband who refused to resign. She convinced herself and her husband and all the governments of Libya being on the right. "We will live or die together people of Libya. In the end, history will prove it," said Safia.
