Reporting from the page the Associated Press, Wednesday, June 1, 2011, Mladic was flown from Belgrade to the airport in Rotterdam on Tuesday. Furthermore, under strict escort security forces, Mladic are brought to the prison isolation of the United Nations in The Hague.
A spokesman for the war crimes tribunal, Nerma Jelacic, said that placement in a prison isolation is standard procedure for newly arrived prisoners. Mladic also been given a list of defense attorneys who can help her through the initial trial.
Not yet certain when the first court Mladic will be held, but Jelacic said the tribunal would be done within the next few days. At the initial court later, Mladic will give recognition or denial of all accusations addressed to him.
Like his boss who was also detained in The Hague, Radovan Karadzic, Mladic is also expected to try to slow the process of court by refusing to give recognition. Karadzic before doing this and cause the court delayed for a month. Both Karadzic and Mladic said that they did not recognize the court that was held by the United Nations.
Mladic faces charges of genocide and other war crimes committed by Serb troops under the command of the Bosnian war from 1992 to 1995. In the event known as the Srebrenica massacre, Mladic was the brains behind the 8000 killing of Bosnian Muslims.
Minister of Justice of Serbia, Snezana Malovic, said that handing over Mladic to the International Court of Serbia indicate seriousness in fulfilling the moral and international obligations. Earlier, Serbia repeatedly accused of hiding Mladic who managed to escape for 16 years.
"Mladic was indicted for crimes against humanity and the most serious violations of international law," said Malovic.
