Obama Watch City Due to Hurricane Destruction


Shortly after returning from a tour of European countries, Barack Obama flew into town Joplin, the state of Missouri. There, the president of the United States have directly witnessed the destruction of the city of Joplin after the hurricane hit, Sunday, May 29, 2011 local time.

"I promise you that this country will always be with you all every time," Obama said, quoted by the Associated Press. "You have demonstrated a simple truth, that in the midst of this tragedy we are all brothers. There are no strangers here," Obama said, encouraging residents Joplin who hit upon the destruction of their homes.

To the locals, Obama stated that his attention is not just lip service. "We will stay here after the cameraman away," Obama said as he hugged several residents. "This is not your tragedy, but also a national tragedy that will no response from the central government," Obama said.

According to news station Fox News, last week's cyclone that killed at least 139 people. In addition, 2,000 houses destroyed in the hurricane's fury.
