Anwar Ibrahim Threatened Punishment 20 Years


KUALA LUMPUR - The trial of the alleged sodomy case to the Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, will certainly continue. This was done after the court decided a new witness who filed judged credible.

Chief Justice Mohamed Zabidin Diah decided to resume the trial of Anwar, based on the testimony of new witnesses and DNA evidence.

"The evidence strongly supports. Nothing is wrong with this evidence, this also can be responsible," said Judge Zabidin, in a hearing with the Court of Malaysia.

The charges on Anwar was dropped when former aides consider this 63-year-old man has been put through acts of sodomy in June 2008. If convicted Anwar will be jailed for more than 20 years.

Immediately after the decision, former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia was admitted was not surprised. "Obviously this decision was not surprising at all, to see the judge has issued a decision for the continuation of this case," said Anwar Ibrahim told Reuters on Monday (5/16/2011).

Anwar adding he would be surprised to see new evidence for the court deemed appropriate. According to the same decision as was the judge of himself.

Decision of judges is certainly provide great opportunities to the Prime Minister Najib Razak following the next general election. Of course, with a return lodged Anwar sodomy case, make Razak as no opponent in the elections to be held this year.
