Spanish Quake Victims Killed 10 People


Lorca-SPAIN - About 10 people were reportedly killed along with dozens others wounded after an earthquake shook southeastern Spain on Wednesday (05/11/2011) local time.

Bermagnitud 5.2 quake was attacked with the epicenter in the Murcia region Tercia Mountains, near the town of Lorca, Murcia region, Spain.

Vibration can be felt up to Madrid, capital of Spain. Some areas in the vicinity, such as Alicante to Malaga, also felt the shocks.

The quake is the worst in Spain in 50 years. Reportedly, besides the victims were killed, including a 13-year-old child, and injured, many buildings collapsed, including the tower of the medieval church.

Among them also including historical heritage site of the cemetery and temple. "Unfortunately, people have been killed because of buried ruins of caves and ruins of buildings. We're still trying whether these people are still trapped in between the buildings that collapsed," said Francisco Jodar, Mayor of Lorca.
